A Strong Foundation
There were lots of volunteers and lots more block! 1,600 of them to be exact. That would be block of course. As you can see below, the volunteers were up to the task. They carried block, mixed concrete, and started building the walls. For those of us who were first timers laying block, we found out that it's really much harder than it looks. Thankfully, we had a few skilled professionals that could patiently show us the way. It took just over a week to complete and it wouldn't have been possible without many of you. We need more helpers to stucco the block walls on Saturday July 25th. If you would like to help, please contact Kim Riggs or Debra Knight.

Work Begins!
The first step was removing the septic tank. The old one was taken out, and a new one was installed in the new location. Then the digging began. Some big trees were tumbled, deep holes were dug, and solid footings were poured. Over a few days much work was accomplished.
The "Three Musketeers" watch as the big trucks pour out the concrete for the footings.
Ground Breaking
Friends and family gathered for the ground breaking ceremony on July 2. This marked the official beginning of the construction of the house. It was a sweet time of dedication with praise and worship.
