The Vinyl Siding

The vinyl siding is almost finished. Things are really taking shape! Coming soon...more work on the deck, brick work, insulation, and then the sheetrock!

Thanks again to everyone that has taken part in this project! It continues to be an amazing journey to see God's people come together to accomplish His will. You all are a blessing!

Starting the Deck

Despite the mud, the deck was started today. And..... a great lunch was served to all the volunteers.

A Busy Saturday

We had lots of help today. The doors and windows were set, people cleaned inside and out, and some framing was finished up.

Calling All Volunteers!

The framing continues this Saturday, August 15 at 8 a.m. Come with your work gloves, hammer, tape measure and pencil, or just with a willing heart! There will be something to do for everyone. Don't miss the fellowship! You will be blessed! :)

The Framing Continues

Saturday Framing again! We didn't have as much help but those who came worked hard, and enjoyed lunch! The first floor walls are up, and the 2nd floor is decked.

Framing!!

The walls are going up! The first Saturday we had about 25 volunteers. The weather was great and by the end of the day the first floor decking was in place.

God Is So Good!!

God continues to provide the needs for this project! Sometimes it's the right people to accomplish the job, other times it's the materials needed. Almost everyday there is a new story of someone that wants to be a part. It has been so amazing to see how all the pieces continue to come together. Pastor Norm and Donna, as well as their family have impacted so many lives. Now, God's people are giving back! It is all for HIS glory!!

The Basement Floor is Poured

Today the basement slab was poured. The framing is scheduled to begin Thursday, July 30. This week the crew will be working Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We will need volunteers each day to help out! There will be a variety of jobs to choose from, sorting, cutting, carrying lumber, or even providing lunch. If you would like to volunteer, or have questions, you can e'mail Debra Knight at debra@sbcgriffin.org, or Kim Riggs at mkmriggs@aol.com

Stucco and Plumbing

It was a busy Saturday morning! About 25 people came out to help get the plumbing roughed in the slab, and to stucco the basement walls to prepare for the waterproofing. We had such great help that we the work was finished early.

A Strong Foundation

There were lots of volunteers and lots more block! 1,600 of them to be exact. That would be block of course. As you can see below, the volunteers were up to the task. They carried block, mixed concrete, and started building the walls. For those of us who were first timers laying block, we found out that it's really much harder than it looks. Thankfully, we had a few skilled professionals that could patiently show us the way. It took just over a week to complete and it wouldn't have been possible without many of you. We need more helpers to stucco the block walls on Saturday July 25th. If you would like to help, please contact Kim Riggs or Debra Knight.
